Opening of Miranda's National Latvian Tour

Riga Ghetto and Latvian Holocaust Museum 15 May 2017

After Tallinn the team of Drom headed towards Riga, Latvia. Miranda was opened on 15 May 2017 at Riga Ghetto and Latvian Holocaust Museum by Mayor of Riga Nils Ushakovs. Other speakers of the event were Cultural Counsellor Veijo Baltzar, Ambassador of Finland to Latvia Olli Kantanen, Rabbi Menachem Barkahan and representative of the national Roma communisty, chairman of International Romani Union Normund Rudevich.

"Thank you for bringing this exhibition to Riga, for the opportunity to show to people of our country the tragedy of Roma people, sometimes underestimated and underreported in history. We really need it in our society."

Opening of Miranda exhibitions World Tour at Museum of Occupations 11 May 2017

The National Estonian Tour of the exhibition "Miranda - The Roma Holocaust" was opened in Tallinn, Estonia at Museum of Occupations on Thu 11 May 2017. Exhibition was opened by 1. vice-chairman of Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu), deputy Mr. Enn Eesmaa. Other speakers of the opening ceremony were the leader of local Roma community Mr. Roman Lutt, Cultural Counsellor Mr. Veijo Baltzar, Ambassador of Finland to Estonia Ms. Kirsti Narinen and Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission (Embassy of Germany in Estonia) Mr. Reinhard Wiemer.

Among the first reportages about Miranda and Veijo Baltzar's visit in Tallinn was Estonia's National Broadcasters ERR's evening news on 10 May (video below).

Miranda exhibition launches its World Tour!

Supported by EU's Europe for Citizens program, the exhibition "Miranda - The Roma Holocaust" launched its World Tour 2018-2050 at Espoo Cultural Centre 15 Feb 2017 in the framework of Through Miranda's Eyes 2016-2018 project. During the project Miranda exhibition will kick-start to 20 national tourneés in 20 European states.

Integration Theatre Baltzar's cabaret play SIN left no one cold

The latest musical theatre production of Integration Theatre Baltzar, performed in April 2016 (premiere 20 Apr 2016) was a big success. The play was described as fresh, soulful and as standing out of the mainstream.

Veijo Baltzar received international recognition

Veijo Baltzar received international recognition for his 50-year work for the European Roma at the first year international award ceremony European Roma Spirit Award in Bratislava 10 Oct 2016. Veijo Baltzar became one of the three finalists of the award and was among them the only Nordic representative. The laureates of the European Roma Spirit Award 2016 were chosen by the International Jury of Experts, chaired by Ms. Věra Jourová, European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality.
